Guess where Big Ted and I went this time? You guessed it—Shoeburyness Lodge No. 6665, who meet at Southend, and who recently extended a warm invitation for us to visit and receive a very special donation.

During the meeting, the Lodge presented us with a cheque for £500, a significant contribution that makes Shoeburyness Lodge official Patrons of the TLC Essex Appeal. Their generosity will go directly toward providing TLC bears to local hospitals—bringing comfort and reassurance to children facing distress in A&E departments.

What made the evening even more special was the invitation to speak about TLC Essex during the white table dinnerfollowing the meeting. It was a fantastic opportunity to share the story behind the Appeal, the impact it’s having across Essex, and how every donation—like the one from Shoeburyness Lodge—is making a real difference.

The atmosphere throughout the evening was warm, welcoming, and filled with that familiar spirit of Freemasonry: kindness, community, and a shared commitment to helping others.
