Earlier this month, Big Ted and I had the pleasure of visiting Philbrick Lodge No. 2255 at Chingford, where we were warmly welcomed by familiar faces and longstanding supporters of the TLC Essex Appeal.
The Lodge had recently made a generous £1,000 donation, which officially qualifies them as Bronze Patrons of the Appeal. It was my honour to present their Bronze Patron Certificate during the meeting, in recognition of this outstanding support.
Having known many of the members for some time, the visit felt more like catching up with old friends than a formal presentation. The warmth, fellowship, and genuine enthusiasm in the room made it an especially enjoyable evening—one that truly reflected the spirit of Freemasonry at its best.
This donation will help fund hundreds of TLC teddy bears, each one destined to bring comfort to a child in distress during a hospital A&E visit somewhere in Essex. Thanks to the generosity of Lodges like Philbrick, we can continue ensuring that no child faces those moments alone.
To the Worshipful Master and Brethren of Philbrick Lodge—thank you for your kindness, your continued support, and for helping us deliver comfort one teddy at a time.
We’re proud to count you among our valued Patrons and look forward to seeing you again soon.
