A huge thank you to the Brethren of Hornchurch Lodge No. 5790, who recently gave Big Ted and me a very warm welcome during our visit—and made a truly remarkable contribution to the TLC Essex Appeal.

On the night, the Lodge presented a £2,500 donation, earning them the distinguished title of Silver Patrons of the Appeal—one of only three Lodges in the entire Province to have reached this level of generosity. Their incredible support will help fund hundreds of TLC teddy bears for children facing distress in hospital A&E departments across Essex.

The meeting itself was a pleasure to attend. We were privileged to witness Bro. Tom Dale being raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason—a significant and memorable moment in any Freemason’s journey, conducted with great care and dignity by the Worshipful Master and his team.

It was an all-round excellent evening filled with fellowship, tradition, and generosity—everything Freemasonry should be. Hornchurch Lodge’s support for TLC Essex not only demonstrates their commitment to the principles of charity and compassion, but it also has a real and lasting impact on the lives of children across our communities.
