On Saturday 9th September, I had the pleasure of visiting Aeronautical Lodge No. 9647 at Chingford for a very special occasion—one that reflected both the generosity and dedication of its members.
During the meeting, I was honoured to receive a £500 donation from the Lodge in support of the TLC Essex Appeal. This was complemented by a further £600 raised by their newly installed Worshipful Master, W.Bro Martin Sycamore, who had recently run a joint Membership and TLC Essex stand at the Dunmow Flitch Trials. His initiative not only raised valuable funds, but also helped to promote the TLC message to a wider audience.
With a combined total of £1,100, Aeronautical Lodge immediately qualified as Bronze Patrons of the TLC Essex Appeal. It was my pleasure—alongside their Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro Martin Howse—to present W.Bro Martin Sycamore with their official Bronze Patron Certificate during the meeting.
The atmosphere throughout was warm, welcoming, and full of purpose—exactly what Freemasonry is all about. W.Bro Martin also shared his plans to continue supporting TLC Essex throughout his year in the Chair, with more fundraising efforts already on the horizon.
I’ve no doubt this won’t be my last visit to Aeronautical Lodge during his Mastership!
A heartfelt thank you to all the Brethren at Aeronautical Lodge for their enthusiasm and support. Your generosity will help us continue delivering smiles and comfort—one teddy at a time.
