At TLC Essex, we’re proud to support not just hospitals, but also community organisations that care for vulnerable children during their most distressing times. One such partnership recently saw us provide TLC teddy bears to a local women’s refuge, supporting children and young people who have fled domestic abuse with their families.
When we met Natasha, one of the team members supporting these families, her words perfectly captured the impact of what a teddy bear can mean to a child in crisis:
“We are very fortunate to have organisations reach out to offer us support, and I am so pleased this support was offered. Within days we had arranged to meet and the teddies were handed over.
They will be invaluable to give to the children and young people that come to refuge after fleeing domestic abuse. A teddy will help with their embedded trauma.
Most families have to leave their home and come to refuge with hardly any belongings, and the teddies will bring some much-needed comfort.”
Her words are a powerful reminder of how something as small as a teddy bear can provide emotional security and a sense of stability when everything else feels uncertain.
We’re proud to play a small part in helping children feel safe again—and we are incredibly grateful to Natasha and her team for the amazing work they do.
Together, we’re delivering hope and healing—one teddy at a time.
