A big thank you to W.Bro Bob Hendrie, Charity Steward of Wheel of Fellowship Lodge No. 9016 in Maldon, for organising a fantastic fundraising evening in support of the TLC Essex Appeal.
Held on 14th March, the event drew a great turnout of Brethren and guests who were treated to a fascinating talk by Chris Truran, a retired Metropolitan Police Scenes of Crimes Officer. Chris shared stories from some of the major cases he had worked on, offering a rare insight into the world of forensic investigation. As a retired Met Detectivemyself, I found his talk especially compelling!
Following Chris’s presentation, I had the opportunity to give a short talk about the work of TLC Essex, explaining how our teddies provide comfort and reassurance to children in distress during A&E visits across Essex. It was a pleasure to share the mission of the Appeal with such an engaged and supportive audience.
The funds raised from the evening will be formally presented on 4th April, when Big Ted and I will have the pleasure of visiting Wheel of Fellowship Lodge. We’re very much looking forward to returning and thanking the Lodge in person for their generosity and support.
Events like this show just how powerful Masonic fellowship can be—bringing people together for a good evening and an even better cause.
Thank you once again, W.Bro Bob, and all who attended.
