On 1st November, Big Ted and I had the great pleasure of visiting Goodwill Lodge No. 7904 at Chingford to express our heartfelt thanks for their recent £1,000 donation to the TLC Essex Appeal.
During the meeting, I was honoured to present their Worshipful Master, W.Bro Barry Toombs, with a Bronze Patron Certificate, formally recognising the Lodge’s outstanding contribution. Their generosity will go directly towards providing hundreds of TLC bears to children in hospital emergency departments across Essex, helping bring comfort and reassurance when it’s needed most.
It was particularly special to see RW.Bro John Webb in attendance. As Provincial Grand Master from 2005 to 2015, RW.Bro John was a passionate advocate for TLC Essex, overseeing a crucial period of growth and expansion for the Appeal. His continued support is deeply appreciated and a reminder of the lasting impact of his leadership.
The evening at Goodwill Lodge was a shining example of what Freemasonry is all about—compassion, fellowship, and meaningful action. The name of the Lodge could not have been more fitting.
On behalf of everyone at TLC Essex, thank you to W.Bro Barry Toombs and all the Brethren of Goodwill Lodge for your generous support. Your donation ensures that we can continue to make a difference—one teddy, and one smile, at a time.
