Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of visiting Chingford Chapter No. 2859 to personally thank the Companions for their generous £500 donation to the TLC Essex Appeal, made earlier in the year.

The evening was a wonderful opportunity not only to express our gratitude but also to share more about the origins and evolution of the Appeal. I delivered a short talk tracing the journey of Teddies for Loving Care—from its humble beginnings here in Essex to its expansion across the UK and internationally. It was a privilege to reflect on how a simple idea, rooted in compassion, has grown to bring comfort to thousands of children in times of distress.

Following the talk, I was delighted to present the Most Excellent Zerubbabel, E.Comp. Peter White, with a TLC Essex Patron Certificate, formally recognising Chingford Chapter’s support for the Appeal.

Donations like these make a real and immediate difference. Every pound raised helps provide teddy bears to children in hospital A&E departments—offering reassurance and comfort during moments of fear, anxiety, and uncertainty.
