At the heart of every great fundraising story is a generous spirit and a long-term vision — and W.Bros. Scott Murray and Tim Allen of Sion Lodge No. 9314 have shown exactly that.

As Directors of ECT Environmental Ltd, specialists in asbestos removal, the two Essex Freemasons made an incredible pledge in 2024: their company would donate £500 each year to the TLC Essex Appeal until they both retire. Thankfully, as two of the younger members of our Province, that promise could span many years to come! 🧸

But their commitment didn’t stop there. With the help of their Office Manager Tanisha Sharp, they also began selling TLC Essex merchandise to raise even more funds for the Appeal. And by May 2025 — just over a year after their original pledge — they had raised a phenomenal additional £2,000, bringing their total contribution to £2,500.

Today, I had the great pleasure of presenting the team with a Silver Patron Certificate to thank them for their outstanding support.

This act of generosity demonstrates the huge impact that can come when Freemasons bring their professional and personal values together in the service of others.
