A big thank you to Martin Sycamore and Ronnie & Jean Rowell for helping set up and run the TLC Essex stand at the annual Stisted Summer Fete yesterday. Despite the unseasonably wet start to the day, the rain cleared by the afternoon, and we were soon enjoying some long-awaited sunshine and a steady stream of generous visitors.
It was fantastic to see so many friendly faces and supporters throughout the day. Among our visitors were RW Provincial Grand Master Paul Tarrant and his wife Jenny, VW Deputy Provincial Grand Master Nick Franklin and his wife Hilda, Deputy Grand Superintendent Peter Hollingsworth and his wife Jenny, as well as APGMs W.Bro Neil March, W.Bro Joe Shearer and his wife Shelley, and W.Bro Colin Felton and his wife Jill. We were especially pleased to see W.Bro Geoff Turpin (APGM) out and about again – a very welcome sight!
The support from the Province and the wider community was overwhelming, and we were proud to showcase the ongoing work of TLC Essex. And if you happened to spot Big Ted wandering around handing out free TLC teddy vouchers to delighted youngsters, that was actually Ronnie Rowell in costume – doing a fantastic job of spreading smiles and warmth!
Thank you to everyone who visited the stall, donated, or simply stopped for a chat. Your support keeps the TLC Essex Appeal alive and well.
