Earlier this month, I had the great pleasure of visiting Old Esthameians Lodge No. 7693 at Upminster to present the brethren with a TLC Essex Patron Certificate in recognition of their generous £500 donation to the Teddies for Loving Care Essex Appeal.
From the moment Big Ted and I arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The atmosphere was friendly and supportive, and it was clear the members of the Lodge genuinely care about making a positive impact—not only within Freemasonry but also in their wider community.
The donation qualifies Old Esthameians Lodge as official Patrons of the TLC Essex Appeal, and their support will help us provide comfort and reassurance to children experiencing distressing or traumatic situations in local hospital A&E departments. Every donation goes directly towards supplying our much-loved TLC Teddies, and thanks to lodges like this one, we’re able to continue spreading a little joy and calm when it’s needed most.
It was also a lovely evening socially, with great conversations, good humour, and a real sense of unity. Moments like these remind us just how strong the bond is between Essex Freemasons and the charitable causes they support.
Thank you once again to the Worshipful Master and brethren of Old Esthameians Lodge for your kindness and hospitality—and for standing alongside us in supporting young patients across Essex.
We look forward to visiting again soon!
